This is such a simple and easy granola recipe. I am sick of spending a fortune on gluten free granola in the shops. They are usually loaded with sugar too. When I started to make granola myself I couldn't believe how easy it was to make and you can experiment with whatever ingredients you like in it. This recipe is just a healthier simple version of granola. Hope you like it :)
Ingredients
-
250g Gluten Free Oats
-
1 tbsp of Flaxseed
-
¼ tsp of Salt
-
50g Honey/Maple syrup
-
50g Oil (I used flavourless coconut oil)
-
1 tsp of Vanilla
-
Handful of nuts or seeds (I usually use Cashew nut, pumpkin, chia seeds and almond flakes)
Directions
In a mixing bowl add your oats, flax and salt. Melt the coconut oil or any oil and stir it in, along with the honey and vanilla.
Once it is mixed up well, scoop it onto a baking tray
Bake in the oven for 15 mins at 160°C (320°F). Make sure to shake or move the granola around every 5-10 mins or so to make sure it doesn't overdone.
After about 15mins, throw in your nuts and seeds and bake for about another 10 mins
Make sure to keep a close eye on it or it can burn really fast.
