Chocolate Orange Protein Bars
These protein bars are packed full of Protein and have no refined sugar, but still taste amazing. Most protein bars have a chalky taste but I use hemp protein in this recipe and it works really well. The dates and ripe banana add the sweetness and give it a nice texture.
20g cocoa powder
20g protein powder (hemp)
40g peanut butter (or any nut butter)
70g dates (about 4 medjool dates)
60g ripe banana
½ tsp vanilla
½ orange zest
Pinch of sea salt
Preheat oven to 175 / 350 degrees
Grab a mixing bowl and mash in dates(remove pits) and banana with a fork.
Add in peanut butter (or any nut butter will work), & vanilla and mix it up with a spoon or spatula
Grate the zest off a half an orange into the mix
Beat in the protein powder and cocoa powder
Using a spatula, scoop the dough out onto a baking tray with baking parchment.
Flatten out the the dough into a rectangle shape and cut into 4 bars
Bake for at 175 x 10 mins
Take it out and leave to cool for 20 mins
