I had a class weekend in Sligo this past December to celebrate my birthday. I only wish I could have stayed longer to explore more of the fantastic gluten free food options! Since my visit was short, this is just a small selection of the places we dined at.. but I’ll definitely be back soon for more.
Bia Bao
Formerly known as Jalan Jalan, this Asian street food restaurant is now Bia Bao, and it did not disappoint. As soon as I arrived, I was given the gluten free menu, which had an impressive variety of options. We started with the Korean Chicken Wings, followed by the Crispy Roast Duck and the Crispy Chicken for mains. Every bite was absolutely delicious!
Flipside
There were a few burger spots I had my eye on, but with limited time, we chose Flipside for convenience when we were walking past it and I’m so glad we did. The burger was next level, served with a tasty gluten free bun and chips. The staff were incredibly friendly, which made the experience even better.
Radisson Hotel
We staying in the Radisson which is a super nice hotel, it didn't have a huge selection of gluten free options so I was limited to the beef dinner. It was one of those times where I was annoyed I had very little choice of gluten free. While the gluten free options were somewhat limited, I opted for the beef dinner, and despite my initial disappointment at the lack of choices, the meal was fantastic. I had the brownie and tried some of the Raspberry & White Chocolate Meringue Roulade which was also gluten free and delicious.
